We are kicking the New Year off with two tasty, belly warming and mouth watering January hands-on cooking workshops:
- Ethiopian Vegetarian with Mesey Abateneh, Sat Jan 11, 11:30AM – 2PM
- Indian Vegetarian with Tiffinday‘s Seema Pabari, Sat Jan 18, 11:30AM – 2PM
Both workshops will happen in the Hurndale Kitchen of the Eastminster United Church (310 Danforth, at Jackman). Register for one workshop at a cost of $50 each, or save $10 by registering for both at $90! For workshop details, registration and payment information visit Eventbrite.
Cooking know-how is a gift that keeps on giving!
Mesey & Seema bringing it on at the Withrow Park Farmers’ Market.
That’s right, folks: there are only 2 more Withrow Market days left this season. Come join us, because there’s still loads of good local food available, and you can read about it in our Oct 19 newsletter.
Something fun & educational to do this Sat Oct 19 is a vermicomposting workshop; that’s right: composting with worms!
Worm compost expert Glenn Muroe is doing a workshop in the garden of the Danforth Baptist Church (60 Bowden St. right at the corner with Danforth), from 1-3. No registration required, just show up! You’ll learn a lot about both indoor & outdoor composting with worms, how to build an outdoor bin, & you’ll be able to win a worm “door prize”, too! For info call 416-466-5658.
If we didn’t love local food so much we wouldn’t be in this “business”. Come join us and share in the harvest this June 29! Happy Pride and Canada Day!!
We still have room in our first From Scratch Cooking Workshop of the season: strawberry-rhubarb jam! But hurry, the registration closes at 10 p.m. on Tuesday July 2.
